|Message from CEO|
In April 2009, succeeding the leadership of Sir David Lane, I made the commitment to establish ETC as the premier drug discovery and development facility in Singapore. This commitment was driven by what I’ve experienced and witnessed in Singapore – the growing wealth of really interesting and potentially significant basic biology and scientific discoveries, and the very real need (and opportunity!) for institutes like ETC to bridge the widening gap between early-stage scientific discoveries and the clinic, to benefit patients who need these innovative discoveries.
At ETC, we work to deliver the next generation of breakthrough medicines by seeking out scientific excellence of leading researchers in and outside Singapore. We draw on and develop discoveries made by scientists and clinicians working in academic research and healthcare institutions and add value through the development of new prototype medicines that hold sufficient potential to enter clinical trials.
In short, we are building bridges between basic, academic research and the clinical sciences, and hope to contribute to the discovery of a new generation of medicines. All of our projects are established as partnerships and our doors are wide open for new ideas, concepts and drug leads. We therefore welcome partnering opportunities and collaborations to bring novel scientific discoveries into the clinic. In true partnership, we can develop Medicines for the Future!
